Here are some steps we’ve taken at the hotel to create a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere!

Rainbow Heart Decorations: To infuse the entire lobby with Pride’s spirit, we will decorate with rainbow hearts. These vibrant symbols of love and inclusivity will be displayed throughout the area, creating a welcoming and celebratory ambiance.

Picture Backdrop: We have successfully prepared a beautiful backdrop for taking pictures. It is ready to be set up in the lobby, allowing visitors to capture memorable moments against a colorful and festive background.

Waffle King’s Heart Balloon: The Waffle King will play a central role in our Pride decorations. They will have a giant heart-shaped balloon adorned with shimmering little rainbow hearts and colorful ribbons. This eye-catching display will add a touch of joy and festivity to the lobby.

LGBTQIA Prominence Table: On one side of the lobby, we will set up a table featuring pictures of some of the most prominent LGBTQIA individuals throughout history. These individuals have made significant contributions to the community and deserve recognition. To enhance the experience, we will also include a small poster with a QR code. When scanned, the QR code will direct visitors to our pride section on the website, where they can access more information about the people featured in the photos.

She Fest

She Fest delivers empowering and accessible programming and content that centers LGBTQ+ women and non-binary people; creates opportunities to connect LGBTQ+ small businesses to new audiences; facilitates social events that bring people together; and invests in and celebrate the volunteer leadership of She Fest committee members. Our year-round efforts culminate in an annual flagship event that brings over 4,000 of our community members together to kick off San Diego’s Pride week in July.

Light Up the Cathedral

You are invited to join LGBTQ Faith Leaders and Faithful. Join Dean Penny Bridges and other Faith Leaders as we gather together, in-person to celebrate our faith and resilience. After the service, the Cathedral will be lit in rainbow colors.

The Rally

What do I get with my San Diego Pride Festival ticket?
Attendees get to experience admission to the famous San Diego Pride Festival, which includes multiple stages and dance areas, beverage areas, community information booths and vendors, and much more.

The festival is full of fun attractions including Art of Pride, Children’s Garden, Leather Realm, Youth Zone, and more.

Festival-goers can also choose from over 100 entertainers and performers to dance to and enjoy.

Where is the San Diego Pride Festival?
The festival is located on the west side of Balboa Park off Sixth Avenue from Laurel Street going south into Marston Point.

Where is the San Diego Pride Parade?
The parade follows a mile-and-a-half route starting west along University Avenue (starting at Normal Street) and turns south onto Sixth Avenue. The parade goes into Balboa Park at Upas Street.

Where is the Spirit of Stonewall Rally?
The Spirit of Stonewall Rally is located at Normal St and University just under the Hillcrest Pride Flag. This event is free and open to the public.

Is San Diego Pride accessible?
Yes, all San Diego Pride events are accessible to individuals with disabilities, and there are also services for deaf and hard of hearing individuals. Please check out our Pride Accessibility page for more information.
