If you will be in San Diego during the holiday season, you will not want to miss out on December Nights at Balboa Park. On December 4th and 5th Balboa Park will once again be offering a festive event to get the holiday season started. There will be beautiful Christmas decorations, treats to enjoy, and much more so be sure to look for places to stay in San Diego near Balboa Park so you don’t miss out!
This will be the 38th consecutive year that Balboa Park will host December Nights. On both evenings, museums at Balboa Park will allow FREE admission for all to enjoy but that is just the beginning. These nights offer fun cultural events for all to enjoy. There will be a number of different options for cultural foods to choose from main plates to sweets and treats. This will be located at the International Christmas Festival at the House of Pacific Relations Cottages. There will also be the annual Santa Lucia Procession at the Plaza de California as well as live entertainment. Some of this includes musical and dance presentations from such places as the San Diego Civic Youth Ballet, the San Diego Junior Theatre, the Del Cerro Baptist’s Christmas Story Tree and more. A brand new event that can be enjoyed this year is the Children’s Interactive Area. Families will have the opportunity to add onto a giant-sized coloring book page that features Balboa Park. At the Spanish Village, there will also be artisans offering art that can be purchased as gifts!
FREE admission to the museums will be from 5pm – 9pm on December 4th and 5th. There will also be a kickoff ceremony at 6pm on Friday that is sure to be an unforgettable event. For more information about this event, visit balboapark.org/decembernights
