This year, over 180 restaurants will be participating during restaurant week. That’s right, you have 7 days to explore hundreds of restaurants from all types of cuisines. Each restaurant will be offering a discounted prix fixe menu, which means you can even go to those high-end restaurants you always wanted to go to and you won’t spend a fortune! If you love food and trying out new restaurants or different types of cuisines, the San Diego Restaurant Week is a dream come true for you!

The 10th annual San Diego Restaurant week will take place from Sunday, January 18th through Saturday, January 24th. During this fantastic week, you don’t have to worry about purchasing any tickets or passes. Simply go to any of the many participating restaurants and tell them you’d like to choose something from their prix fix menu! If you go during lunch, you will receive two courses for $10, $15, or $20. If you go to one of the participating restaurants for dinner, you will receive three courses for $20, $30, $40, or $50. Whatever you are in the mood for, you will be able to find food that you will like. You’ll find American, Asian, Argentinian, Chinese, French, Greek, Hawaiian, Italian, Japanese, Mediterranean, Mexican, and so much more! Another great thing about this week is that the restaurants are located all over the many different neighborhoods of San Diego. That means you can either enjoy some of the places that are close to where you are staying, or you can decide to explore and venture to different parts of the city. When you participate in restaurant week, you can go to places such as Coronado, Downtown San Diego, East County, Uptown, La Jolla, Mission Bay and Beaches, South Pay, Old Town and more!

Light Up Your Holiday Spirit at the San Diego Bay Parade of Lights!

November 30, 2014 By Kings Inn

With the holiday season right around the corner, it is time to get into the holiday cheer. Let the San Diego community get you ready for the Holidays with the 43rd Annual San Diego Bay Parade of Lights! Perhaps you’ve seen holiday parades before, but have you seen a parade of ships sail down the bay? Now is your chance! Come down to the San Diego Bay on Sunday, December 14th and on Sunday, December 21st to see the parade. The procession will begin at 5:30pm so if you will be at one of the hotels close to San Diego Bay be sure to bring your friends and family and enjoy the show!

The Annual San Diego Bay Parade of Lights is a time-honored tradition loved by the whole community. Come down to the docks and see over 80 boats that have all been creatively decorated for the holiday season! Imagine boats that have been decorated with hundreds of twinkling lights slowly sail down the water as the lights reflect off the water. It truly is a beautiful sight! The parade will start from Shelter Island and continue through Harbor Island around 6pm, the Embarcadero around 6:30pm, Seaport Village around 7pm, and end at Ferry Landing in Coronado around 7:30pm.

Every year there is a different theme to help get people in the holiday spirit. This year, the theme is Children’s Stories so all the ships will be decorated according to a holiday story for children or any other children’s story that has a link to the holidays! Come and see what the creative participants have come up with this year! A great place to view the parade while on land is the north and south ends of the Embarcadero, as these areas tend to be less crowded. At the end of the parade there is a grand prize offered to a lucky participant who had the best-decorated boat. The Grand prize is a package for a luxury cruise aboard a sailing ship from Star Clippers for two people.

Ride the Waves to Discover the Best Beaches in San Diego!

October 31, 2014 By Kings Inn

When you come to San Diego, one thing you can be sure of are the great beaches we have here. Here are some of the best beaches in San Diego that you will find when you come and visit this great city.

Many people have compared Mission Beach to Coney Island or Atlantic City on the East Coast. Though they may have a point, it is important to know that there is a special Southern California vibe here that you won’t find anywhere else. Here, you will find a variety of eateries, street performers, nightclubs and more. There are many free spirits who love to roam the sandy shores in this carnival like atmosphere. On the boardwalk, take a ride on the Giant Dipper roller coaster, bumper cars and an arcade! You can always stop for a bite to eat and get nice cold beer as well! Pacific Beach is a favorite destination for college students and other young adults. You can have fun in the sun and then enjoy the nightlife, from nightclubs to fine dining restaurants. There are also a number of bars and taco stands if you are looking for a more relaxed vibe.

Coronado Beach is beautiful beach that has consistently been voted by The Travel Channel as one of the finest beaches in America. This is because of the glistening shore due to the Mica, a special mineral in the sand and gentle, picturesque waves. This is as close to paradise that you’ll find here. Imperial Beach is the southernmost beach town in CA and is only 5 miles away from Tijuana. This is a quiet beach town, but its location to Tijuana makes it a great stomping ground if you are planning to make a day trip to the city.

In Del Mar, California there is a long stretch of beach that can be divided into three parts. Dog Beach offers a place to play volleyball games and where you can bring your canine friend! This beach however, is not the best for swimming as the water is shallow, but it does make a great place to take your small children to! The northern part of Del Mar beach, from 15th street to the River Mouth, offers good swimming, easy beach access and is great for intermediate surfers. At the south end, there is no shore but instead, you’ll find great bluffs where you can take a walk or nice jog!

You can’t go wrong when visiting any of the beaches in San Diego!
