Join the Fun at the Rolando Street Fair!

August 7, 2017 By Kings Inn

A favorite event among the local community and visitors from far and wide, the Rolando Street Fair is a popular annual affair for the whole family. Volunteer organised and co-ordinated by non-profit groups, in previous years the Street Fair has drawn several thousand people as crowds and filled the town with festivity and spirit. With musical performances and more than one hundred different booths of craft stalls, food vendors and service opportunities, it a wonderful day out with friends both new and old. There’s even a ‘kids’ corner’ area specifically designed for the youngest visitors, filled with fun activities and crafts as well as rides and amusements. Those who will be staying in San Diego should definitely check out the fair!

This year’s Street Fair is being held on Sunday March 30th between 10am and 6pm. Between the Silk Oak trees planted over half a century ago, the Fair fills the whole of Rolando Boulevard – the perfect picturesque backdrop. This is the ideal day out, with live music being played by The Ballad Mongers, Katie Leigh and the Infantry, Len Rainey and the Midnight Players, Steph Johnson as special guest of the Afrojazziacs and a special South California Reggae Xplosion provided by JAM KwesT. These local bands are very popular in the area and bring their own live music and active performances to the Street Fair in inimitable style.

Rolando Street Fair is supported by the College Area Business Improvement District, in association with the College Neighbourhoods Foundation, and with much needed financial backing from City Arts and Culture Commission. Between Marti Emerald, the Office of Council member, and the team of volunteers, this event truly represents the community which it brings together. Back for its 18th year, the support of the local people is essential for making the event a success. Families join from all across the county to celebrate the start of spring and to share in making happy memories.

Get Your Thrills At Belmont Park

July 19, 2017 By Kings Inn

Whether you’re looking for a fun place to stroll through or you’re chasing exciting thrills, be sure to head to Belmont Park – San Diego’s only beachfront amusement park! If you’re looking to enjoy some fun at this destination, be sure to find a hotel near Belmont Park so you have a place to crash at the end of your action packed day.

Belmont Park is located at the popular Mission Beach. Once here, enjoy the exciting attractions such as climbing aboard the historic Giant Dipper roller coaster or try the famous wave simulator machines. After a ride on the rollercoaster, try your aim when you head to the mini golf course and see if you can get a whole in one! Other attractions include an arcade filled with fun arcade games, laser tag, a rock climbing wall, a rope adventure course, fun carnival games and more.

If you get hungry don’t worry as there are a number of options for you to choose from. When the sun is overhead, cool down by enjoying one of the giant ice cream cones that you can purchase at the park. If you want to eat something a little more substantial, then stop by one of the four oceanfront restaurants that you can find at the park. When you go to Draft South Mission choose from one of the 69 beers that are on tap! You’ll be sure to find a brew that you’ll love. Another place to consider is Canonball, which has the largest oceanfront rooftop in all of San Diego. For beach front views, visit the Beach House Grill, which is located directly on the boardwalk of Mission Beach. Enjoy outdoor tiki bars, cabanas or one of the fire pits. Sitting by the beach with a drink in hand is a perfect way to watch the sunset and to end your day at Belmont Park.
