5 Fun Things To Do In Gaslamp District

February 10, 2016 By Kings Inn

The Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego is often listed as one of the top places to visit in the area, and for good reason. At the Gaslamp Quarter there is something for everyone. Are you wondering what to do in Gaslamp San Diego?  Here are the top 5 things to do while you visit the Gaslamp Quarter.

This area of San Diego is a fantastic place to come and eat. While there are many restaurants to choose from, we recommend the Tin Fish Gaslamp. This is a local favorite that consistently serves up good eats. With assortments of seafood and grilled plates, you are sure to be satisfied. While you’re there, enjoy the outdoor seating and the people watching opportunities as the patio provides.

Looking for a classy place to drink some cocktails? If so, the Noble Experiment is the place to go. This speakeasy environment prides themselves in their craft cocktails. In addition, it is an exclusive place as this intimate bar is actually located inside another restaurant that is called the Neighborhood. This elusive bar only accepts reservations via text and is often fully booked a week in advance so plan accordingly. For reservations visit www.nobleexperimentsd.com

If you want a fun event, head over to Petco Park and watch the San Diego Padres play ball. Their regular season is from April through October. Even when the Padres aren’t playing baseball, you can still visit Petco Park and go on a behind-the-scenes tour and even get the chance to go into the Padres dugout. For season schedule visit www.sandiego.padres.mlb.com

Do want to go shopping for the perfect souvenir? If so, than be sure to visit the Westfield Horton Plaza. This outdoor, multi-level mall is worth a visit just to see the unique design of the building. The shopping center also houses a number of boutiques, department stores, food selections and even a movie theatre. For more information visit www.westfield.com

If you want a perfect place to take a picture to remind you of your time in San Diego, how about the San Diego Gaslamp Quarter archway. Located on 5th avenue, the iconic archway illuminated the entrance into the area and it serves as the perfect place for a picture.

Enjoy Discounted Admission for Museums in San Diego!

January 20, 2016 By Kings Inn

One of the great things about San Diego is that it offers a number of fun and educational museums throughout the city. Sometimes it seems that there are so many good ones, you don’t know where to start. Maybe Museum Month sponsored by Macy’s will help. During Macy’s Museum Month, select museums will offer half price admission! Museum month will be from February 1st through the 29th.

During Macy’s Museum Month, you can explore over 40 museums all at half off admission. This means one day you can go from learning more about arts and entertainment and the next day you can learn about history and culture. Here’s how it works. Participants simply need to stop by any Macy’s store in the area and pick up a Museum Month Pass. When you show this pass at one of the participating museums, you will be able to receive half-off the admission price of the museum. The passes will be available for pick up starting on February 1st at all San Diego as well as Temecula and Imperial Valley Macy’s. In addition, with just one pass, you can also bring up to three people with you who will also be able to receive the half-off admission rate. With a pass, you will also be given a $10 coupon off any $30 or more spent at a Macy’s.

Here’s some of the participating museums that you will be able to visit this Museum Month. The San Diego Natural History Museum, the USS Midway Museum, the San Diego Museum of art, the Barona Cultural Center & Museum, the California Center for the Arts – Escondido Museum, the California Surf Museum, the Coronado Museum of History & Art, the Gaslamp Museum at William Heath Davis House, the Japanese Friendship Garden, the Junipero Serra Museum, the Lux Art Institute, the Maritime Museum of San Diego, the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum and many more!  If you plan to visit one or more of these museums then make sure to book a hotel in San Diego.
