Top 5 Reasons to Visit San Diego

March 30, 2016 By Kings Inn

While Los Angeles might be the first city you think of when you hear Southern California, it is definitely not the only one. San Diego is a major city in Southern California offering a number of family friendly activities as well as a lively nightlife scene for 20 something year olds. Here are 5 reasons to visit San Diego.

If you enjoy beer, San Diego is just the place for you. With nearly 75 breweries in the city, you have countless opportunities to try some local brews with friends. If you’re interested in learning more about the brewing process, you can hire tours through Brew Hop, a company that will take you behind the scenes at breweries such as Ballast Point, Stone, Mission and Karl Strauss.

If you want to relax and spend the day tanning, San Diego is just the place for you. With some of the most beautiful beaches on the entire West Coast, whatever beach experience you are looking for, San Diego has got it. From family-friendly beaches with low waves to secluded, romantic beaches, San Diego has got it.

If shopping is more your thing, there are a number of outlet opportunities throughout the city as well. If you want high end shopping where you can get Barneys or Ferragamo for cheap, head over to Carlsbad Premium Outlets. If you are looking for a more typical outlet experience with shops such as Nautica, Eddie Bauer and Levi’s, the Viejas Outlet Center is the place for you.

Another great thing about San Diego is the weather. In fact, the average temperature on any given day of the year is about 70 degrees. That means when the rest of the country is shoveling snow, you can be relaxing by the beach with shorts on.

San Diego is also great because the people aren’t so obsessed with celebrities or Hollywood. Known for more of its relaxed vibe, San Diego is a great way to enjoy the beauty of California without any of the drama. If you will be staying in one of the local San Diego Hotels near Mission Bay, we hope this list will be found useful.

Top 3 Beaches in Beautful San Diego

March 9, 2016 By Kings Inn

If you are visiting San Diego, a trip to the beach is a must. The only problem is, with so many incredible beaches, it might be hard to narrow down your search. To make things easy, here are the top 3 San Diego Beaches to visit during your stay.

First on the list is Mission Beach. What makes this beach such a great destination is that here, there is something for everyone. If you are looking for your typical beach experience where you simply lie back and soak up the sun, Mission beach has two miles of sandy shoreline so there’s plenty of room for everyone to shack up and work on their tan. If you want something a little more active, enjoy a game of beach volleyball or take a stroll down the boardwalk where other activities such as rollerblading and biking are allowed. Also on the boardwalk is a giant roller-coaster for those who love to catch the next thrill.

Next on the list is Coronado Beach. One of the great things about this beach is how easily accessible it is. Not only can you reach it by car, there are also a number of public buses and shuttles that will drop you off at the shore. The gentle waves here also make it a great place if you are learning how to boogie board or surf. Coronado Beach is also ranked as one of the most romantic beaches in the area. This wide, flat beach offers breathtaking views of the ocean, especially during a sunset.

Another must visit beach in San Diego is La Jolla. La Jolla is a great beach for families to enjoy. While other beaches boast large and dangerous waves, La Jolla is a more relaxed alternative. In fact, the beach has been ranked as one of the best beaches for families in all of California. During the summer, La Jolla even actually has some of the most gentle waves out of all the beaches in San Diego. Aside from this, the Steven Birch Aquarium is also located nearby. Not only can you enjoy a fun day at the beach, you can also take your kids to a fun and interactive aquarium.

A day at the beach is a must if you are visiting Southern California.

Parks to Take the Family to in San Diego

February 20, 2016 By Kings Inn

San Diego is a city that offers so many things to do and see, especially as a family. If you are visiting with your family, booking a hotel with pool in San Diego, and are looking for a fun time, consider some of these theme parks in San Diego to take your kids to.

SeaWorld offers adventures year round. Stop by Explorer’s Reef, an interactive experience that the whole family will enjoy. While you’re here, you can touch a shark, engage with a ray, and even feel what it’s like to have cleaner fish gently nibble at your fingers. Don’t forget to enjoy the incredible shows such as the Dolphin Days show where you can see what these intelligent mammals can do. If you really want to turn up the fun, head to Aquatica, SeaWorld’s themed water park. Here, you and your family can really make a splash while enjoying water slides, rides, pools and even beaches to relax at.

The San Diego Zoo was recently named the Best Zoo in the World by TripAdvisor’s Traveler’s Choice Awards. If that isn’t enough to make you want to check out this zoo, maybe the amazing habitats, guided tours on double-deckers, and the Children’s Zoo will spark your interest. There is also an incredible variety of animals such as tigers, flamingos, polar bears, gorillas, koalas, pandas, giant tortoises, leopards and so much more! A trip to San Diego wouldn’t be complete without a stop at the San Diego Zoo.

If you and your family are looking for an even more engaging experience, head over to the Safari Park, an offshoot of the San Diego Zoo. At the Safari Park, you can dive right in and choose from different types of safaris. Choose a cart or caravan safari adventure. You can also choose different fields such as the Africa field or the Asia field. Now you can go on an engaging safari without even having to leave the country!

Belmont Park is a vintage amusement park located at Mission Beach. Its wooden roller coaster, “Giant Dipper” has even been around since 1925. After you turn on the rides, try out the carnival rides, maybe you’ll even win a giant stuffed animal!

A unique park to visit is LEGOLAND. At the park, there is even an all new 4D Adventure based off of The LEGO Movie. Enjoy fun rides, shows, and interactive experiences. LEGOLAND is a great park for kids of all ages.
Which of these parks does your family enjoy the most?
