Ride the Waves to Discover the Best Beaches in San Diego!

October 31, 2014 By Kings Inn

When you come to San Diego, one thing you can be sure of are the great beaches we have here. Here are some of the best beaches in San Diego that you will find when you come and visit this great city.

Many people have compared Mission Beach to Coney Island or Atlantic City on the East Coast. Though they may have a point, it is important to know that there is a special Southern California vibe here that you won’t find anywhere else. Here, you will find a variety of eateries, street performers, nightclubs and more. There are many free spirits who love to roam the sandy shores in this carnival like atmosphere. On the boardwalk, take a ride on the Giant Dipper roller coaster, bumper cars and an arcade! You can always stop for a bite to eat and get nice cold beer as well! Pacific Beach is a favorite destination for college students and other young adults. You can have fun in the sun and then enjoy the nightlife, from nightclubs to fine dining restaurants. There are also a number of bars and taco stands if you are looking for a more relaxed vibe.

Coronado Beach is beautiful beach that has consistently been voted by The Travel Channel as one of the finest beaches in America. This is because of the glistening shore due to the Mica, a special mineral in the sand and gentle, picturesque waves. This is as close to paradise that you’ll find here. Imperial Beach is the southernmost beach town in CA and is only 5 miles away from Tijuana. This is a quiet beach town, but its location to Tijuana makes it a great stomping ground if you are planning to make a day trip to the city.

In Del Mar, California there is a long stretch of beach that can be divided into three parts. Dog Beach offers a place to play volleyball games and where you can bring your canine friend! This beach however, is not the best for swimming as the water is shallow, but it does make a great place to take your small children to! The northern part of Del Mar beach, from 15th street to the River Mouth, offers good swimming, easy beach access and is great for intermediate surfers. At the south end, there is no shore but instead, you’ll find great bluffs where you can take a walk or nice jog!

You can’t go wrong when visiting any of the beaches in San Diego!
